Bought for a 73lb rescue dog who has never been trained in anything. He is half pit bull, half labrador. I'm 74 years old and he dragged me around like a rag doll. I put this collar on him after teaching him some obedience commands because he had a very strong head and even though he knew what I was telling him, he didn't listen. First I used vibration and it stopped for a while and listened for a few minutes. Then... He started not listening again. I turn the shock level down to the next level, 15, so as not to shock him too much if he's listening. He didn't seem to notice at all. I moved it to 25 and then this time it whined and jumped and looked at me. I showed him the remote control and told him to sit down. He looked at me, then at the test and sat down. I even listened. From now on all I have to do is take control and put a collar on him and he is a very obedient boy. Sometimes I need to remind him to calm down and listen by vibrating, but I don't need to shock him. once was enough for him. Then, with the collar off and the remote turned off, all I have to do is point it at him and he's sitting right there. It's an amazing tool, but it has to be used with care. Use only for training, not for punishment.
