. I bought this to use with my Ooma phone system (VoIP). The combination is excellent. I have a Panasonic base unit plugged into the back of an Ooma and the phones are spread around the house. This combination is just as convenient as a landline connection, but without a monthly fee. When researching this phone I found out that there was a newer Panasonic model but the reviews for this model were much better. I recommend buying this model while it's still available. I've had it for over a year now and it's still working perfectly. The audio is very clear and the menu system on the phone is intuitive (i.e. no manual required). It has a neat feature: once a number is programmed into a handset, anyone can access it. It also has a built-in phone speaker and headphone jack. If you're planning on cutting the cord from your local phone company and going the VoIP route with Ooma or a similar device, this phone system is the way to go.
