I bought this unit for my 1 month trip to the Philippines and it worked great! I liked the variety of being able to connect my devices directly via a conventional mains plug or USB. While many of the devices I've used to charge/power with this device most likely didn't need a converter (since many of them had this feature built in or were controlled by their power supplies), not having it was still a great reassurance for me having to take care of everything I needed to connect. And there's definitely some noise from the device's internal fan, but that wasn't a huge issue for me. I left this unit plugged in for over 29 days and slept with it on my bedside table every night, barely noticing the fan. This is all a very reliable unit and I would definitely recommend this unit to anyone looking for a versatile buck converter.
