I've had this bottle for 2 years and it hadn't expired when the fish started reacting as if they had been poisoned immediately after adding it the Stresszymes API Water. I contacted API manufacturer Mars Fishcare to see if my bottle had gone bad. I didn't ask them or blame them for the problems, I just wanted to know if it went bad and I should throw it away. The company's response raised my suspicions. API stated that their product never spoils. When they found out I was using Seachem Prime (competitor's brand) water conditioner, they said Seachem Prime probably wouldn't work. So, according to API, other brands go bad, but their products don't. I know for a fact that their claim is false as the fish that got sick from the API product recovered when I did a water change using Seachem Prime as the water conditioner. If the Seachem product didn't work as claimed, the extra water changes should have killed the fish. This incident shook my confidence in the API brand. If the company said my product may have gone bad because I opened it so long ago, I would throw it out and buy another. But trying to shift the blame onto me by using a reputable competitor brand with such a weak argument really looks like they aren't entirely honest.
