Review on ๐Ÿš˜ Set of 2 Tuff Support Rear Liftgate Lift Supports - Replacement for 2008-2013 Toyota Highlander (USA Built Models) with Power Liftgate by Davey Kamau

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Ridiculously easy fix. Saved a lot of money by doing it myself.

They fit my 2012 Toyota Highlander perfectly. Add this to the list of "something a lot easier to install than you might think". It took me about 10 minutes because I wasn't 100% sure what I was doing the first time. Be sure to watch an installation video or two (they're pretty generic) and put a ladder under the door so you don't get hit in the head when removing the spacers. (The rear doors can weigh up to 300 pounds!) The uprights that came with my Highlander required a small flat head screwdriver to pry off the small clips on each end. The included clips are easier to use and require no tools. You may need a rubber mallet to hit the strut at the ball joints, but a good hard hit will probably work. UPDATE: While they're easy to install, they don't cost beans. Now I change the SECOND sentence. Tuff support handled the first replacement with no problem, but didn't respond to the second. I will choose another supplier for them. Cheap isn't always the best option.
