Great receiver for the price (~$200). Overall I really like this receiver (nice sound, good OSD, various inputs, HDMI pass-through in standby) but I have to mention a couple of issues I noticed. The picture/sound occasionally disappeared for no apparent reason and then came back on after a few seconds. Ironically, this happens a lot less often after a month, but it makes me wonder about the long-term reliability of these devices. While you can use your HDMI devices in standby mode, you cannot switch inputs until you turn on the receiver. on.-It doesn't pass analog sources such as component through the HDMI output (not really a criticism as only high-end receivers do, but it's worth mentioning) - so expect component cables for the input for your Nintendo Wii to use and by the recipient. From what I understand the Onkyo makes loud clicking noises when turning on/off, changing inputs, etc. It was a little scary when I first heard this, but I was assured that this is normal with Onkyo. Has harder to use spring clip speaker terminals (16 AWG max) that are very close together. Just be very careful and take your time connecting your speakers and it's not that big of a problem. There's no 4k pass-through, making it a little less promising. Those minor issues aside, I have to say that overall this is a very good basic receiver.
