Great for cats! Annoying with children.
My cat has held up well with the sad addition that she just wasn't into it. So now it serves as a wonderful cute decorative piece. However, it takes a lot of abuse fairly well. We have two children in the house, both children who climb everything and everyone. And even when the eldest (about 35 pounds!) tried to STAND on it (AGH!). (She was taken away from the children for safety reasons. The cat still shows no minimal interest in her.)
