Review on Sceptre C248B-144R: A Curved 24 πŸ’» Inch 1080P DisplayPort Monitor with FreeSyncTM Technology by Robert Barger

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good deal for the price.

Here is a brief overview. So this monitor has very few reviews, but I decided to pull the trigger. I've only had the monitor for a few days but so far so good. There's another 27-inch monitor from Zepter, which is essentially the same monitor, just slightly larger. If you are interested, there are several reviews about this product. The monitor was well packaged. As others have said, it takes a bit of fine tuning to get the right image. I have found that the gamma needs to be increased with a click, I believe mine is 2.4. I'd like to be able to turn the brightness down a bit, but in my black level test, the 50-stop setting is the lowest you can go while still showing all black levels. This gives some images a slightly blurry look, but it gets better when you lower the brightness and sacrifice black levels. about 144 frames per second. I had to lower my game settings to get this, but that must be because my GPU was pushed to its limit. I wanted to share this because there are many 144Hz monitors in this price range, but most only support 144Hz through the display port. My laptop only had HDMI and USB 3.0, as did many consumer laptops and desktops. You can buy a converter, but that forces you to use both the USB 3.0 port and the HDMI port. I'm by no means an expert, but the build quality seems pretty decent. I'm not sure what type of LCD panel is used. The other 27" scepter says it's VA, I can't find any info on that. Or wait, it doesn't matter because if you're buying this for gaming, you're sacrificing viewing angles and color accuracy for lower input lag and higher refresh rates. I think it's definitely worth buying under $200 if it stands the test of time. This rating is my personal opinion. I paid for this product with my hard earned money.
