The Chiba Quest is definitely cool. They are stylish, comfortable, flexible, breathable shoes with a very simple design and they fit perfectly (I'm a size 10). They are machine washable which is a big plus. I prefer to wear mine with socks, but I know they work great with sandals too (just like TOMS). My main complaint would be their price ($80 when I first saw their ad, $70 now) combined with the material that makes up the white stripe on the sole of the shoe. It's a thin, durable rubber on the front of the shoe towards the toe box (see attached images) but it cuts down and turns into a less durable and lightweight foam material (very similar to the STI foam used in newer Etnies shoes becomes). ) right where the ball of the big toe is and from there goes to the rest/back of the shoe. They might not have been as light if they hadn't used that foam for the rest of the white stripe, but I think they would be a lot more durable in the long run and worth the high price tag. Other than that and the price, great shoes that have earned me loads of compliments in less than a week of wearing them. Would definitely buy again and consider a different color if the price goes down.
