I purchased these two red Powerline+ II USB-C cables on October 4th, 2019 from Lightning . Today, December 18, 2020, I had to stop using one of these. It reliably stopped charging my iPhone 11 Pro Max. I ran a series of tests on the cable to find out which part of the cable failed. It looks like the USB-C port is defective. I need to "lift" the plug or "twist" the plug to get my device to charge now. I tested with another cable that I bought at the same time, but I used significantly less: it doesn't show the same charging behavior. My guess is that a spring element in the USB-C port has exceeded its useful life and has failed. Three stars for achieving this lifecycle in just one year. I'm probably a power user, but I still expect a little more durability from a premium cable. I hope it's not a regular USB-C. I now have a lot of USB-C cables and devices, and I feel that the failure rate of these cables is much higher than previous generation USB-A workhorses.
