I bought Akebono brake pads for my 2001 Mercedes E320 front brake. BALO (OEM quality, Made in Germany) disc from the Internet (be sure to browse). My mechanic said both parts are very good. The total cost, including installation, was $210. I've typically had to pay at least $550 at a local shop and the dealer will charge a lot more for the same quality product. A few months earlier, Meineke had charged me $675 for brake pads and rotors on my other Mercedes. Never again! In terms of braking performance, it takes about 1,000 miles to break in. After that, the brake works great and seems very reliable/reliable. It is actually better than the dealer installed pads. No noise, almost no brake dust. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THESE BRAKE PADS TO EVERYONE!
