Assembly tip

The main reason I wanted a cart like this was: 1. The counter top dishwasher storage is too big to fit under cabinets so I needed wheels to get it there, where i need them . 2. Close the trash can and keep it out of sight. I didn't collect the shelf inside and left it open - the bin fits perfectly and keeps the clutter and smell in! For those two things works great! I'm a bit worried that although the wood seems very strong, it will rot if it gets too wet, so I plan on putting a square of rug under the bin and a tread on top. It rolls smoothly, the opening side holds all of our tea and hot chocolate, and looks pretty cute overall! The thickness of some parts of the tree impressed me, but the thickness of others didn't impress me at all. The front door, for example, is very thin and very easy to break. But the wheels are nice and heavy, and I like that there's a magnet on the door and a lock on the side door (although the same side door makes it impossible to constantly keep the unit pressed against the wall if that's what you want). want).Assembly, however. Huge pain. The items were packaged nicely for us and I appreciated that some of the parts like the screws for the handles were already screwed into the part so there was no confusion. The instructions could have been a bit better, we accidentally put the base on the wrong way around and didn't realize it until it was time to add the front door and the bottom was missing the correct hole. BIGGEST COMPLAINT that knocked the star off: The holes are pre-drilled but NOT tapped. This means that when screwing the parts together, you are turning the hole yourself, and since the hole is very narrow, your hands and wrists will be in a difficult position. We struggled a lot, and it wasn't just due to weak hands - one of the screws holding the paper towel dispenser REMOVED. The hole is completely round. I honestly don't get the hobby of DIY furniture with hex heads! So now it's very wobbly (which the heavy duty glue couldn't hold for more than a day. This was extremely annoying but doesn't affect functionality). TIP: Each hole you need to fill with a screw - first without screwing in the attached part. It was still crude, but easier than putting everything together, and once the part was actually attached it worked much, much better. I wish I could do that before I undress.
