Wondering if these blocks are going to be expensive and of high quality, then you found out that the part of the thermal block (which holds the whole block in the engine compartment) is too high and you can' close the Bonnet not flush (on the right the bonnet (passenger side) is lifted off the top of the heat box protector. I even tried removing the rubber grommet to make more room but no luck, I also tried using a rubber mallet to knock it down , tried bending it, still nothing. Metal to about 1/2-1" tall. My only thought that might fix this is to take the airbox tray out entirely. You remove the stock airbox. and then that Remove 2 screws to install part of this kit's heat box screen, try to remove the entire tray, if you remove 2 screws remove the other 2 and then remove the original airbox mounting plate. there might be just enough room, I'll have to take it apart again to try, but that would be the only way (besides cutting it off) to get the hood to close flush. Otherwise surprisingly good quality so far. They must have updated the clamps from the previous reviews because now they are all really good. Significantly more aggressive compared to the standard box. I don't feel any increase in performance. 2011 avalanche
