Review on Canon EF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 IS USM Lens - Optimized for Canon EOS SLR Cameras by Van Chayathon ᠌

Revainrating 4 out of 5

I like it, thanks for the quality product.

Firstly, there are no complaints about the quality of the picture in the range of 70-200 - the colors are juicy, contrasting, the sharpness is decent, BUT ONLY WITH A BLEND! Without it, it is better not to use the lens - there is a high probability of catching hares, or flare - this will have a great effect on the picture. A stabilizer on telephotos is a really necessary thing, without it you can buy a lens only if you really know what it is and have experience with telephotos. Indoors, if you can shoot, then a flash (external) is simply necessary, on the street, during daylight hours, you can do without it. I don’t recommend shutter speeds longer than 1/200 at all - there may be micro-lubrication. What I didn’t like: Not fast focusing, the 70-200 is much faster, a lens that rotates when focusing and at the same time extends by 10-15mm. When you put it away in a wardrobe trunk, you need to focus to infinity in order to "collect" the lens. If you really need a telephoto - a very worthy offer for your money.

Pros
  • Cutting Gives a good picture and colors The stabilizer does its job
Cons
  • In the range of 200-300 - lathers Inconvenient switching to manual focus (although rarely necessary) Rotating front lens (which pops out noticeably) Slow and not always sure focus

Pros: Stub, color reproduction, autofocus. Perfectly lathers the background Got cons: Noisy. Sometimes lathers at 300mm

Maybe the situation is better on the crop, but only up to 150mm is suitable for a full frame, and then with a stretch.
