Review on Sceptre E205W 16003R Frameless Speakers Metallic Built-In Speakers, Wall Mountable, Flicker-Free, ‎E205W-16003R by Benjamin Taylor

This review relates to the monitor "(Scepter 20", 1600 x 900, 75Hz, LED monitor, 2 built-in speakers HDMI, VGA, sRGB, 99%, machine black (E209W-16003RT series), also known as "20", 75Hz, wide viewing angle." I have 2 of these for $115 each. It was difficult to return them and use two 22" Samsung IPS 1080p monitors instead. For some reason didn't -IPS screens (like these) have a hard time displaying a flat black/grey screen The grayscale test photos below have my very high quality laptop monitor as a reference in each image for what the black and gray screen SHOULD look like The monitor is at the top of each image and my laptop is at the bottom The screen is mirrored onto the Specter monitor above them They show pretty bad "ghosting" To be honest in real life it's not as bad as the camera makes the monitor But me still found it too distracting, dam Working with it because the screen is always darker at the top than at the bottom (regardless of the viewing angle), the scroll bar can be difficult to see as it gradually changes from normal at the top to blurry at the bottom. Finding information on Google can also be difficult because the color change of a website you've already visited on Google is harder to see at the bottom of the screen than at the top. It's also harder to work in Excel because the grid lines don't have a consistent hue across the screen. It's not as terrible as the HP 19.5" V20 HD+ monitor. But it's still not great. I found it too distracting to use as a home office monitor. There should be 6 images that various black/gray tones are shown as reflected off my laptop on a 20" Specter monitor. The monitor in the image also has a dead pixel a few inches from the top left corner that you can see in the darkest images Being able to see green. Personally, I don't deduct points if my particular item/item has a fault/defect. Even the best manufacturers have products that have passed quality control, so I'll just mention it and let the readers decide if it's a too common problem is for them to decide not to buy it I only give bad reviews for "system problems" that affects the whole line of products like this there are many different options to change Hellig sensitivity, hue, color, sharpness, etc. But unfortunately, due to the fact that the screen is uneven, if the top looks good, then the bottom looks bad and vice versa, the screen looks bad. good features for the money. I will miss two HDMI ports and speakers, although they are not very good. However, you can plug in a Roku flash drive and watch/listen to TV while working on another monitor if you have two (see image). Personally, I also liked the larger size than the 22-inch Samsung 1080p monitors I keep. Two 22 inch monitors are a bit big for my very small desk, even with the VESA mount. Specter monitors are also VESA mountable, which was another reason I bought them. They come with screws that create a gap of about ¾ inch between the monitor and the VESA mount (see image). I'm not entirely sure why they did this, but it makes it easier to access the cables from the back and wasn't an inconvenience to me. There are many different options to change brightness, tint, color, sharpness etc. But unfortunately the screen doesn't look flat, if the top looks good then the bottom looks bad and vice versa. If you're short on cash and selling for $120 or less, this might be a monitor worth considering. But the one I opened to try/test had a defective pixel so I had to return it anyway. And I never opened the second one, because I decided that I just can't work with this monitor, most likely for many years. The Samsung looks amazing right out of the box without having to fiddle with the screen settings. And I got them on Revain's sale for $140 each. For my home office monitor(s) needs, the Samsung is much better and worth the extra $25 each. But Samsung's 22-inch IPS monitors typically cost $165 a piece. It would be harder to choose if I had to pay full price for Samsung monitors.
