Review on Heyiarbeit Replacement Diaphragm Membrane Accessory by Darius Glatzel

Why on earth were they packed back to back in a plastic bag?!?!

A few years ago my brother and I built a pair of vintage speakers with Radio Shack / Realistic "Super Dome" tweeters (good tweeters for the price btw). Anyway, I had a burned out tweeter and decided to give it a try since the voice coil was the same size and the plastic washer was almost the same. Thought it was worth a try for $10 and the speakers have sentimental value. I really wish they stayed the way they look as they sound pretty good. Well, my wife presented me with a package today and I knew at that moment that at least one, possibly all, would be unusable. Of course, one was badly damaged and unusable, two were torn but possibly usable, and one seemed fine. After I sat down and started repairing my tweeter, it turned out that one of the coils was deformed (not in a circle). I could go on for a while here but it's getting late so I'll summarize. It appears to be a decent product, packaged so carelessly that most, if not all, gets damaged. Too bad too, because the overall workmanship seemed pretty good. If you have an old set of dome tweeters for some shop speakers or similar and can take the time you might be lucky and not get 2 out of 4 usable ones. If you are a music lover and planning to refurbish some high quality tweeters, opt for expedited shipping and spend some extra money. They will be packaged in a zip butt and shipped in a bubble envelope. This is the rather fragile precision component we're talking about. You could have at least added some styrofoam or cardboard rings and that would have been much better. It's amazing that China is so good at making things that they'd rather take losses than take the time to pack them properly.
