Review on 🦈 Fulton 141133 XLT Swing-Away Jack with Durable Sharkskin Finish - 1500lb Weight Capacity by Bob Trapp

Revainrating 4 out of 5

A well-built jack can be a little overkill, but it's very easy to use.

This jack is very well built and well designed. The crank is larger in diameter, fits better in your hand, and feels better in your hand than the handle on cheaper jacks. Thanks to the best quality and design, the jack is very easy to use, unlike other jacks I have used. The release handle is also much easier to use. I like the bigger wheel better than the smaller twin wheels I had before. Because this jack wheel rolls much more easily on concrete or tarmac than the smaller twin wheels, you can ensure the trailer's wheels are properly locked before unhitching the trailer or leaving it unattended, even on level ground. The instructions are somewhat ambiguous and apparently haven't been updated in years. Usually the learning process for something like this is (or should be) self-explanatory and largely guided by common sense. The only reason I looked at them was because I was struggling to line up the screws perfectly with the holes. I've installed tongue bushings before and never had a problem. Flipping the brackets fixed the problem, but I didn't realize it until I installed it incorrectly. I didn't realize the holes were a bit asymmetrical. This instruction sheet is identical to the instructions for the jack I installed when I bought my boat trailer 15 years ago. The instructions are general and apply to all models, not just this one. Apparently they haven't been changed or updated in years. There is nothing in it that offers advice on usage, limitations and very little on care and maintenance etc. Overall, though, this is a decent, sturdy jack.
