The world is always changing, and so does flash drives. For years I've used standard rectangular USB ports to back up files and store music to play in my car instead of on my smartphone. However, I recently bought a new device that only accepts USB Type-C ports, USB oval ports, or flash drives. I had to buy this stick to play music in the car without tying a smartphone to it. Works great in a car and they also have a standard rectangular plug on the opposite end so you can use both to transfer files from your computer than a Type C plug on a device like your car or smartphone with a Type plug not accepted c.
