Love My Turtle Tank! Snappers are very messy eaters and the water not only becomes cloudy but also fills with small bits of food. Add to that their waste and the tank will be dirty within a few days no matter how much I scoop and filter. I use two filters with biological and mechanical filtration to keep up with maintenance and usually do a full change every 2 weeks and a tank clean with a 40% change every 4 days or so. I don't deep clean the filters to preserve the good bacteria and basically just rinse the filters and change the activated carbon as needed. I also add water as needed to keep the level at my snapper's preferred height. ReptoClean actually works surprisingly well, helping to extend my 2 week reset and tank cleaning to every 4 weeks along with continued weekly 40% water changes and filter flushes combined with occasional water additions. I just add some trash remover every time I do a partial change and then after a full reset and clean. My perch had no side effects and I'm glad the cymbal smells better longer, doesn't get cloudy and I have less work to do when it comes to breaking the cymbal completely. I thought maybe the filters would filter out the enzymes, but that doesn't seem to be the case. I will definitely be using this as part of my regular tank maintenance from now on! All in all, this is a good product at the moment. I will update if anything changes. I rely on honest reviews to buy the best products I can get within my budget!
