Bought two boxes of 8. In the first box, both sets of cartridges failed. The error message on the HP8710 screen was "One or more cartridges are missing or damaged". The icon at the top of the message indicates problems with all four cartridges. Open the second box of eight and the third set worked fine. Called the company and offered a full refund. Split the difference - get your money back on one box and try using the second. The problem could very well be related to an HP software update. It's amazing how a company like HP would try to hold you hostage.
