I originally bought these brushes in November 2016 and am now buying a second set because I love them so much. First, they are just beautiful. Secondly, they are actually very soft and well made. No bristles fell out and only one tip fell off, the brow/mascara wand, due to the rough way I brushed it. I've been doing everything wrong for a year and a half (soaking, using too hot water, the wrong soap, rubbing the bristles too roughly), basically brushing them like they are my brushes and they still hold up great, still soft. The density of the brushes is also just right for my products. They're not too brittle, but fluffy enough to be perfect for dusting/brushing/blending powder products while strong enough to work with thicker creamy/liquid products. They travel well, each brush is useful for everyday use/every step so I only had to buy a few very specialized brushes for other needs and overall this is a great set for the price. *Update: May 16, 2018* I had to wait until I actually received the new set to give my review, but no worries. I have to deduct a star because the new set is not as good as the original. The bad news is the brushes are half as dense as they used to be making them VERY brittle which fully explains why the price has dropped from $10.99 to $7.99 (still very useful for powder products, more effort will be required for creamy/liquid products). ). The shapes of the brushes are also very different, the original set put more emphasis on keeping the shapes round, and even while the new set seems faster, strands and even domes are missing. This is easy to fix with a small pair of scissors. The good news is that the bristles are even softer! More good news: The fan brush, flat foundation brush, and mascara brush didn't seem to be affected by the quality change. In fact, the only big thing seems to be the density of the bristles. So for the price this set is still pretty cool and I'm still happy to have a spare set.
