Review on Enhanced Viewing ViewSonic VA2855SMH Monitor: 1920X1080P, 4Hz, Anti-Glare, LCD, HDMI by Clifford Perez

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Had high hopes. to my rating.

I ordered this monitor to replace an older ASUS VW246H (24") monitor. I had wanted to upscale it to 28" for a long time and it seemed to fit what I was looking for as the reviews seemed almost overwhelming. Positive. When I got it When I unpacked the first thing I noticed was something inside the monitor itself (probably a screw). This is not a good sign as either something fell apart or an extra part was left over during production. As I figured this could be ignored, "I plugged everything in and booted it up. I was immediately disappointed. The ASUS I've had for 6+ years has STILL better color depth, deeper blacks, and overall better clarity. I spent 20 minutes fiddling with the buttons that are moving were in the most unfortunate spot and tried changing the color settings, contrast, etc. No matter what I did and what setting I changed, the image bl still blurry. BTW the buttons are just below the bottom of the bottom bar and are loose/difficult to use and there doesn't seem to be any way of knowing which button does what. I also tested different films. in VLC format, MP4 format, AVI format, MKV format and movie straight from my Blu-ray disc. The still image looks fine, but the second movement was accompanied by motion blur that was so bad that after a few minutes I had a stomach ache. Ghosts also seem to be an issue. I didn't see any bright spots or dead pixels, but the loose screw, blurry image, and poor overall quality would make me return this item.

Pros
  • 28 inches
Cons
