Review on 🧸 Woombie Original Swaddle Blanket in Zen Gray, 3-6 Months by Randy Gunnmann

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Good half diaper with a lot of freedom of movement for the baby.

We have a little boy (8 weeks old) who has high needs. We tried to wrap him with blankets, and then Velcro blankets "Swaddled me" - in the end he fell out of everyone. However, he simply did NOT sleep without being wrapped. We bought the Happiest Baby Alive book and DVD (LOVE IT!) and knew swaddling helped but got frustrated at having to change him in the middle of the night. I started searching the internet and found Woombies. I ordered both the original and the leggy (as our little one sleeps in his swing with reflux so he can get up and get some exercise to stay awake). It was no wonder, "my baby is now sleeping through the night a minute after I clasp it" as some parents thought. However, he hasn't lifted off yet and he likes it when he can move his arms a little. This makes feeding at 2am interesting because he can move his hands under his chin and sometimes closes his mouth and I have to move his little hands away, but it makes it more limited than open sleep and last night was the first time he wore (he wore and wore a wumby for about a week) he slept 5 straight hours! Not only because of Wumby, but to some extent he achieved the goal of swaddling. His sleep has improved significantly since we treated his reflux which we found out about 2 weeks ago. We still get Miracle Blanket for more proper swaddling, but Woombie is a great product and I think it will be a good transitional item as we move from real swaddling to open sleeping. Also, both Woombies I got through Revain (Tahiti Original and Green Leggie) had snaps under the chin, so no Velcro. They are soft and did not harm the child at all. They are very cozy and will keep him cozy and cool at night. I would buy them again. I gave it 3 stars simply because some of the reviews on the Woombie website make it sound like your child's sleep problems will go away once you zip up - not our experience. But this is a good product. I would say it's a semi diaper and not a full diaper as it's stretchy and allows for more arm movement.
