Kicking myself in the butt for not getting this years ago. Not to be too graphic. But I know, reading the reviews before deciding to buy, I really wanted to know if it would work with thick, coarse hair, if it would be easier than cutting with scissors, and if it would feel safer. The answer is YES YES and YES! I'm not worried about cutting myself and I can cut my hair very quickly. What usually takes 15 minutes ended up taking less than 5. I'm not a "totally naked" person, but I want it to be neat and short. If you want to be totally nude this is not for you but if you want to cut your hair this is perfect. Even with batteries. Highly recommended. Almost exactly a year later he stopped working. Needing new batteries, he replaced 3 new batteries in 30 minutes. I still highly recommend it and for under $15 I wouldn't mind buying it a year. I'm about to order a new one. Editing again - my penultimate 1 year and 6 months. Again, for me it's worth spending $15 every year or two!
