Edit: 4-2020After several years in my kitchen I have decided to pay for renovated bathroom cabinets with this new stove. I just wanted to say that I still love this color and I still love how it complements the light calm color I have. a month so I think I can comfortably write a review about it. I recently remodeled the kitchen - there were red walls and ugly standard oak cabinets. I wanted to brighten up the room and use a very light gray for the walls and when I was shopping for cabinet paint I came across this color at Revain. I figured this hearth color would go best with the wall color I was going to use. This paint is really good considering its price and how much it covers. I used all of these for my kitchen project as I made both the top and bottom cabinets. I sanded the top cabinets and made a vinegar and water mixture for the bottom set. I didn't want to use TSP. In retrospect, I should have sanded all the cabinets. After using them for a month, I noticed that the sanded cabinets adhere to the paint much better. It was also easier to paint sanded cabinets; the lower ones tended to form those tiny bubbles much more easily. Also scratched the bottom ones a few times with fingernails or annoying little sharp objects like forks etc when opening. I touched it up and it's fine now, but I really think it's because I didn't prepare it properly. useful when completing an imo project - First unscrew the bottom cabinet door sets - Paint one side of them - Then unscrew the top cabinet sets (this gives about an hour to dry for the first side coat) - Paint the first side of the top cabinet sets - Turn the bottom set over and paint (this will give the top set time to dry) - Apply a second coat to the top set of cabinets - Then paint the other side of the bottom set (you have the idea - wait for it to dry) - Imo always sand or use TSP - the cabinets I had were 11 years old and the vinegar trick cleaned them fine. No dirt, grease etc but I have a feeling it's not sticking to the paintwork either. like sanded - they look the same, but I'm talking about actually putting them on and then coming into contact with the paint. Stir the Nuvo paint can and mix well for 5 minutes. The reel that came with it works perfectly. Don't apply too much color, especially in the beginning. After these bubbles burst and the paint dries, it will blister and create a "water stain" appearance. I found a sponge roller designed for cabinets and smooth surfaces worked a little better with this one. If anything, you can make the first layer from the kit and put foam on top. The brush works well for corners too, but I found the black foam brushes easier to work with. While working on this I added a moveable island to the kitchen and the bamboo color stuck out like a sore thumb. So I painted it with the same Nuvo paint. Looks great and fits well. I'm planning to paint another old closet we bought from someone online. I will definitely sand it before applying this paint. Overall I am satisfied with the product and this color goes very well with my new wall paint.
