I bought two of these lanterns to use around the home when we have a power outage. I also bought some LED bulbs to use instead of the energy guzzling car bulbs. LED bulbs put out about 190 lumens, which is roughly equivalent to a 25 watt incandescent bulb, and they use very little power. The low power consumption allows me to keep the lights on all night without worrying about battery drain and they are much safer to use than liquid fuel candles and lanterns. I installed one lightbulb in the garage and one in the kitchen. Both lights are connected to a 12 volt deep cycle battery which is charged by a small solar panel. Now when we have a power outage we can just flip the switch and have enough light to move around the house. These are good devices that are perfect for my purposes. I don't know how they fare in RVs, but they work great for me.
