Got this collar for my 45lb Black Lab, I have 5 acres and went shopping with realistic expectations. This collar is really good at keeping them in a safe area for them. You shouldn't expect the collar to be just a few feet away, but more like a large garden. This is great where I want her to stay and got her used to the audible tone a bit so now I can walk her with a training collar instead. At first I wanted the collar to react to the limit faster, but I liked the amount of time before the shock function because it has enough time to return. I also like that it's just a collar and no wires for an invisible fence or wireless invisible fence. I can push the boundaries and include more property on the days I do longer gardening or even cabin use. To be honest, when I bought this I was expecting a 6.5/7 out of 10, but it looks more like an 8.5/9 to me. For the price this is indeed a very valuable aid in training and keeping my pup and I safe. Don't be a tool and expect the dog to exercise, always stay near him or near/in a safe area so he knows where to calm down when the collar makes a corrective tone/vibration/shock . No dog will ever react the same way, but I hope when you buy it the results will be as good as mine. Remember this is a hundred dollar collar, you want precision, spend a thousand or put up a fence and don't complain about this affordable option.
