There is a price-performance problem with this device and the associated TC-TP1 sensor. I bought this with TC-TP1 for work. I have a cheap VicTsing toner/tester at home and it suits what I do better than this setup. ADVANTAGES: The transmitter can test a cable connected to itself or to the other end of a remote terminator. - Better built than VicTsing. Definitely better - I can stop at one cable to troubleshoot, or I'll keep testing all 8, one at a time. VicTsing cannot stop on a line. Comes with adapters for testing/toning BNC cables. The TC-TP1 has a non-conductive probe tip for galvanic isolation. Fastening directly to the wires. This becomes a problem when trying to trace a cable that you are not going to terminate with a male or RJxx connector. It comes with VicTsing. This device is larger than the VicTsing and does not include a tint probe. It comes with a carrying case, but the TC-TP1 probe does not. VicTsing is only 2 pieces and comes with a case that goes with everything and the 2 pieces attach together without a case. - 2.5mm headphone jack. VicTsing has a standard diameter of 3.5mm. 2.5mm severely limits your options. To switch from speakers to headphones, you have to flip the switch. Why the headset plug doesn't have a built-in function is confusing. Produces only a tonality that produces no tones at higher frequencies, making it difficult to hear (at least for some). VicTsing has two distinct tones, one of which is a standard high/low frequency AC tone used in many other tone generators. - With TC-TP1, the display is off. VicTsing has an LED. You need to hold down the trace button on the TC-TP1. VicTsing has the ability to push a button or turn it on permanently. The transmitter has two completely different button styles. It really looks like it was designed in the 90's. For me it's just weird. For this and for the TC-TP1 probe, it is almost three times more expensive than VicTsing. I'm pretty sure I'll return them and get VicTsing. It's a bit cheaper but seems better suited to my needs.

Pros
  • TRANSMITTER INTERFACE: 2 test ports, manual test button, auto test button, power/tone switch, LED indicators.
Cons
  • Periodicity
