We recently bought a home that had an invisible fence installed and no collar. I got these from amazon. The instructions were difficult for me, but a quick call to customer service effectively resolved the situation. The collar emits a series of warning tones before shocking your pet. It took about 4 days of interaction with my dog to learn the boundaries of the property, resulting in him being electrocuted twice in the first few days. 10 months later, that's a great thing! The battery lasts a long time, probably because my dog never tests the "danger zone". Don't worry if you have a large dog. This worked really well for my 75 lb lab.
