I've used it to quilt some basic HST and QST napkins. I was generally able to trace the "groove" with the guide in the forefoot, but the stitching actually came out to the right of the groove, not in it. Since the splint is made of very thin metal, it is also very flexible. There have been cases where the fabric moved back and forth slowly and the guide was flexible enough to stay in the indentation, but the stitches moved farther from the indentation. It wasn't always obvious that this was happening, so I would periodically stop sewing and raise and then lower the presser foot. If it still fell into the ditch, I knew the fabric hadn't shifted to one side. I was able to complete the quilting faster than without the instructions and will continue to use them in the future. Just remember that the guide may be in the groove but no longer aligned with the needle.
