There is no stretch at the waist which made it impossible to zip up. I bought two of these dresses in different colors. the problem was the same for both. These dresses should be referred to as "slim". They are not true to size and are not suitable for plus size children, even if ordered in plus size. My child who is usually a size 12 could not wear a 14 or 16. Definitely disappointed, the dresses are beautiful. One of my four daughters is slim and only she has dresses that fit around the waist so now she has 4 new dresses.
