This thing is a HUGE pain to set up and take down.

I have been a professional photographer for over 10 years and have used a variety of softboxes. I was impressed by the reviews for this particular product and went ahead and bought it. As soon as I opened it, I noticed problems. 1) One of the metal support ribs was broken to begin with and the company has not responded to any of the three support tickets I sent. Customer service doesn't seem to exist. 2) The whole umbrella runs on a pressure system and you have to pull really hard on each individual spoke to open the thing. This is NOT a quick and easy process. 3) All of this is actually quite difficult and cumbersome. It's not optimized in any way, and because it's so tedious to manually enforce each edge of the umbrella, I never want to tweak it. Once I set it up, I never want to take it off. And I don't say that lightly. That's not laziness. It really is so much pain. I gave two stars to one because the softbox grille it comes with is actually pretty good. But overall I am very dissatisfied with my purchase. Yes, the price is not as high as some professional soft boxes. But I've been happy to work with much lighter one-push umbrellas that cost me half as much as this one. I want to replace this one as soon as possible.
