The monitor is universally adjustable and offers uniform brightness across the entire screen; with greatly reduced brightness (25-30%) and a contrast of up to 100%, it also shows a good contrast for an LCD monitor (although not comparable with a good CRT monitor). Its downside is the limited number of common aspect ratios it can display. While it offers standard 4:3 and 5:4 aspect ratios alongside 16:9, the first two don't work with the numbers provided by regular graphics cards. For example, a resolution of 1024 x 768 (4:3 ratio) actually displays 720 lines, resulting in a somewhat narrow display. The 5:4 aspect ratio of 1280x1024 cannot be displayed at all because the monitor doesn't have a line count around 1024 (it has 480,720 and 1080); Nor can there be a comfortable 4:3 1152x864 aspect ratio. So it really is a pure widescreen monitor.
