I trained this fly swatter to kill lantern flies. The extendable handle broke on the second day. Now I beat over a hundred of these stink bugs every day! I taped the pen in place and kept using it. About a week later, the handle's second hinge collapsed. I taped it and although it lost all ability to extend or retract it worked. About two months have passed and I'm still using the first fly swatter taped over. The plastic withstood the impact I demanded of it to kill these invasive insects. It's a bit stiffer than some, but it hasn't cracked or caved in from the 5-6000 hits I've used it for. If you don't mind taping off the handle, this is a reliable weapon against insects, invasive or native!
