Review on Polar H10 Bluetooth Heart Rate Monitor, Compatible with iPhone & Android - Black Chest Strap HRM by Virgilio Patton

Revainrating 1 out of 5

The device went from perfect to broken in just 6 weeks

I had an experience like many others. My H10 has worked flawlessly for six weeks. I kept a close eye on the app's battery level and it stayed at 100% until one day it crashed and gave a low battery warning. I changed the battery right before my next workout and everything was fine until I got another low battery warning during a workout. The battery was discharged from 100% in less than 2 hours. I assumed it must be a bad battery, I bought another brand (like OEM, Energizer), same thing. Started at 3.3V as measured by my Fluke multimeter and dropped to 2.7V after just over an hour of use. Once the battery gets low the monitor starts to act up. I tried a total of 5 batteries with the same result. As the monitor is 6 weeks old my Revain return window has closed. I contacted Polar and it turned out that I have to send it to New York for analysis at my expense, after which I have to pay for the return shipping of the returned device. I kind of need a monitor because I'm monitoring a heart event and need to make sure my heart rate doesn't get too high when I'm exercising. When you get it, don't count on having it when you need it. If you look at other reviews, you'll see that device failures are very common. And the repair cost is pretty high when you factor in all the shipping and time involved, almost not worth it.
