We use them professionally when we need a sufficiently large number of output transformations. Mostly when we use smaller projectors that don't use HDSDI directly. We have a dozen of these and only one has broken so far. (It lost color on the HDMI output, which is weird anyway) Build quality is pretty good considering the price. It's not as robust as something from AJA or even Blackmagic Design, but it costs 10x less and the output quality is the same (well, except for this one device). However, I never leave the store with just one of them. We don't even package them as singles. two in each pocket. Bonus points for newer versions with both power indicators, likewise the signal LED (the signal LED is huge if you're looking for trouble at an 8 projector event), flaws in the lack of an SDI pass-through. So I need to bring a DA or a matrix switch. but it's still 33 dollars. not $300.
