I replaced a square set of 4 chairs with this table and lost nothing. It's the perfect size for the room and looks great. The whole room looks bigger. There were so many complaints about the instructions and the overall design that I was a little apprehensive. However, when it arrived in perfect condition, I unpacked everything but the glass lid and read the instructions. It is very easy to assemble after each step. At first glance the 8 longer screws seem to be the same size, but when I took them out I saw 4 shorter screws for the top of the leg holding the black brackets (they should face outwards) and 4 longer ones for the middle . Legs. I fixed everything before moving on. The crossbars are welded so that the upper points are closer together than the lower ones. It's easy to see. Then I took two of these brackets and put them on the bolts, one pointing left and right of the leg, and just hand tightened the locknuts. I took the second leg and inserted the screws I had previously put into the open end of the bracket, added the third bracket and so on. Once everything was secured I turned the whole thing upside down so it could pull together when the nuts were tightened. I used a blanket for the glass top and then simply installed the legs onto it to attach the brackets to the table. Do not overtighten any of the screws, better tighten after it is assembled and standing upright. The table is very solid and well balanced with good weight due to the glass top. I hope this helps anyone thinking about it. For me it is very good value for money. I definitely recommend it.
