I ordered this monitor as a budget monitor (about $210 at the time of my order) NOT to use as a gaming monitor but as a mini PC monitor which I recently ordered to use as a " Desktop" PC for my computer to use. electronics work area. This monitor seems like a good option for this app, so for the purposes of this review please note that my app is not designed for gamers ONLY. Based on the specs and prices of Samsung's line of gaming monitors, this one appears to be on the very low (entry-level) end. I've just connected two devices to the monitor, a Windows 10 Pro mini PC connected via Displayport and a Raspberry Pi 4 mounted in an enclosure so it can boot from a SATA SSD. The Rasp Pi is connected to the monitor via HDMI. The Pi connection is really just a test case as I don't use it much at all. Most labs use a Windows PC. I've used this PC/monitor combo to watch videos, do a bit of programming/coding work, as a web help tool to pull up specs or other info if needed, and I also solder a USB microscope camera to it . . if it's necessary. Technically, I'm not using the monitor as a gaming device at all - just as a basic monitor for performance and content consumption. It doesn't have speakers, so I also added a small soundbar like speaker to play sound while watching video content. All in all, this monitor is good for what I use it for. I set it to 144Hz on Windows and it works great. A few features that would make it a lot better for me: - Speakers - Higher resolution - ideally 1440p would be ideal - More brightness cheap built-in speakers would be helpful and save the space I would have to take up with an external speaker. For productive work, I stand or sit next to the monitor, so a higher resolution would be nice. Brightness is ok. for me, but I always like to have a bit more brightness when I need it. My home office can get quite bright at times due to the many lighting fixtures (there can be a downlight and a central overhead light, but I don't have to bother with natural light sources. My monitor has very little or no backlighting) is present, so I have, based May have gotten lucky based on some of the other reviews I've seen. something I've never used, but it's a nice feature to have as an option). However, the area of the stand is quite large β both in depth and in width. There are two diagonal legs that point outwards (forward and left and right) and take up a lot of tabletop space. I placed the monitor on a pair of monitor shelves that I had to separate about 1.5 inches apart to have a platform large enough to completely cover the footprint and I still need to rotate the stand a bit to make it work (otherwise the center of the touch point of the stand would fall into the gap between the shelves). It barely fits in that configuration, so in the future I may need to invest in a monitor mount to free up space on those shelves for other stuff. (Stand configuration see photos). I usually place the speaker so that it sits on the legs of the front stand so there's a bit more room on the front of the monitor shelves for the keyboard when I'm not using it. At around $200-$210 I think it's a pretty good option for what I'm using it for. However, in the higher price brackets (it seems to be around $260 now), there are likely some better options. In that case I think if you are aware of the limitations of this product you will be fine (AT THE RIGHT PRICE!).
