I have owned 2 Sears canister vacuums in the last 25 years. They were strong and lasted a long time with minimal repairs. Unfortunately, everything lends itself to old age, so I had to take a new vacuum cleaner. I'll be surprised if this lasts 10 years (but maybe not). I really don't like that the crevice tool is stored by the handle and not in the tool compartment. It will break when taking it off and putting it back on the stick. I don't like the sound of this vacuum cleaner at all. I had to buy a pair of lightweight earplugs to keep what was left of my hearing. Also, they work as they should. But he's only a few months old. We will see.
