I have always bought PG240 and CL241 cartridges for my Canon MG3620. This time, instead of buying expensive cartridges, I looked on YouTube to see how people add their own ink to used cartridges. Lots of videos and it seemed very easy. I checked out Revain and found BCH so I decided to spend $9.00 on this ink set and give it a try. Cartridge. You don't have to cut a hole, so don't do it. All you have to do is open the cartridge cover. People don't think it's possible, but it's very easy to do. Just use a small flat/thin screwdriver and gently pry open the top cover. I had no problems and didn't even scratch the cartridge. Some videos tell you to use a knife to open the lid, but don't use the knife. Just use a small/thin slotted screwdriver. Once I opened the lid, I removed the rectangular sponge from the cartridge compartment. For the CL241 color cartridge, there are three compartments inside the cartridge (one for each of the three colors). I carefully fill each compartment with ink of the appropriate color, then carefully replace the sponge. I attached the lid to the cartridge with tape. I put the filled cartridge back into the printer and did a test print. The print didn't show all the colors, so I ran Canon's Deep Clean utility three times in case some of the nozzles were clogged. After that, the color printout worked perfectly. You can view the color test page I've attached. Everything worked fine. Happy with the purchase and the ease of refilling the cartridges with ink Notes: 1. Even with refilled cartridges, the Canon printer still writes Low Ink. Not sure if this is a false alarm. but I checked online and it's fine refilling my own cartridges. There is no way to reset it. - this is normal 2. When refilling the cartridges, I didn't understand how much ink should be added (too little/too much). I didn't want to fill too much or it would overflow and squirt out when you put the sponge back in. So I only filled it up to a third. Next time I'll probably add a little more.3. When you put the sponge back in, I wasn't sure how deep to press it. Should it just sit on top of the ink level or do you push it further down so it reaches the bottom of the cartridge? If yes, it means the sponge can absorb ink.4. Be sure to use gloves. You will have ink on your hands/fingers and applying ink to the skin is not easy. Update: 03/07/2020 Yesterday I had to refill the cartridges. Uses the same process as refilling (my first time). I uncapped each cartridge, pulled out the sponge, filled each reservoir with ink, reinserted the sponge, and then closed/sealed the cap. I made a mistake by pouring in too much ink, which caused it to overflow. After I was done, I used my printer settings to do a few cleanings/deep cleanings/nozzle checks. Everything was fine and the printouts (color and b/w) were fine. pure colour. Next time I refill my cartridges I won't add as much ink. Overall, these ink supplies are excellent. You save a lot of $$$.
