Review on ๐Ÿ•ถ๏ธ Enhance Your Vision with Smith Attack Max Sunglasses by Tim Harrington

Great for most conditions: Chromapop doesn't work in low light + high contrast.

I've been a Smith Optics fan for over 15 years, my 5th or 6th pair, first of this model. I road bike daily and am an experienced (non-professional) mountain bike adventurer. Shape and workmanship: These are the best glasses I have ever worn. They fit perfectly with my Fox Airframe Fullface as well as my everyday skateboard helmet. My eyes water at the thought of the wind, so I have to wear goggles in all conditions. They are breathable and anti-fog while providing maximum wind protection to prevent tearing. Very impressive. Full screen visibility - you can't beat that coverage AND peripheral vision - wow! It took me a second to realize that the clamps had to be closed to change lenses. rotate asana, etc.). After some research, I discovered this is called "lens bug" - all lenses have it, and DSLRs (read: chromapop) have it the worst. The lighter the tone of the glass, the more noticeable it is (almost invisible in dark colors). The amount of aberration is determined (magnified) by the thickness and curvature of the lens when light reflects off mirrored surfaces and enters your eyes. Since Chromapop has two layers of light reflection (aka filtering), you will notice two phantoms. This effect is only problematic in low-light, high-contrast environments, such as B. at sunrise/sunset or night driving/driving with headlights, where bright points can be seen against a dark background. Bright or illuminated objects are reflected in both directions. For even and stable lighting conditions, Chromapop actually improves visibility by filtering out certain light frequencies that cause visual confusion. Pretty neat! Once I figured that out, I knew I just needed a pair of clear lenses for night riding and commuting. Problem solved.
