Review on πŸ“± Scosche iphw9 Universal Mounting Kit for iPhone & Mobile Devices - 4-in-1 Mount - Black (Retail Packaging) by Ivan Carson

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Looks solid and is reasonably finished

Pros: - The gooseneck/flex arm is comfortable and stiff which means it should hold 'heavy' mobile devices with no problem. still held tight enough not to rotate accidentally. The "legs" at the bottom of the stand fold down to support devices in a vertical orientation and fold down to accommodate taller devices in a horizontal position. Cons: Not strong enough to withstand vibrations. down (I drive a 2008 Ford Fusion with brand new Michelin Defender tires, so no excessive vibration or an off-road issue) - The grip levers are adjustable, but the mechanism is very cheaply made. Don't plan to adjust them frequently unless you want to replace the product quickly. However, if not adjusted, they will hold up well. After about two years the suction cup will most likely fail - I had a previous version of this product. As mentioned in the last Kona, I had an earlier version of this product that included a different support arm - it was a swivel/ball joint while this one is a solid gooseneck type. This worked well enough, but it was difficult to get the desired angle (some were impossible). The type of support arm on this new model is much more comfortable for curves. The design of the device's stand doesn't seem to have changed - it's still made out of cheap plastic that _breaks_ if adjusted too many times or pushed too hard. around the device. My last one took about two years as I popped the phone in and out of the mount without opening the mounts, so that's good. Ultimately, the point on the suction cup where it connects to the rest of the device failed. I've only had this suction cup for a week and have only used it a couple of times. It works, it's not premium (it's Scosche) and the price is right. take action. The vibration isn't that bad (in my car), but there's not much you can do about it unless you buy one of those $60 mounts.
