Review on πŸ’§ Waterproof 24V to 12V 40A DC/DC Voltage Converter Regulator - Cllena 480W Buck Transformer by Danny Porter

It works, hardly. Read below.

This product works a little as advertised. Trying to get full load through this buck converter is not a good idea as it will easily overheat if you do it in the default configuration. I assume it doesn't overheat at half load, although there may be a voltage drop. Indeed, when passively cooled by an aluminum heatsink, the thing gets very hot, although thankfully the overheat protection works as advertised and shuts the device down immediately, so that's a good thing. this should ensure air cooling of the case, which allows me to draw 396 watts stably. This result is almost 100W below advertised power, but let's run the output through a 12V 500W pure sine wave inverter and feed the inverter signal to a 59V 7A power supply to power it to get value. If you count I should be getting about 410 watts, so I accept the results. Still, you can't deny that this buck converter is proving to be a poor choice for those looking for a simple setup with results (completely) as advertised. I have to imagine that with this quality you could even get a device that can burn itself if the sensors fail or don't work at all. For someone able to tinker or find decent workarounds, this is almost a bargain for the price, but don't expect it to come close to rated without your work. When I think about it, it just needs a good enough fan. .
