Review on OEMTOOLS 24938 Pneumatic Manual Extractor by Marty Orthodontics

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Confused customers leave false reviews. Good product.

I used it to drain oil from my 409 in a boat. This worked as expected, but there are a few caveats that people seem to be complaining about. Assembly: There is a large open head threaded nut that fits into the vacuum adapter hole. People who can't assemble it try to use this nut to attach a vacuum hose (5ft long with rubber o-rings on the big end) to a canister. The nut is only _used_ to break the vacuum seal if you cannot disconnect the vacuum hose from the tank. When you unscrew it, the hose falls out. (That's why it _doesn't_ fit on a hose.) Usage: There is a fitting for a standard air compressor that allows a vacuum to be created (for physical reasons). If hand inflating, make sure the valve is at a 90° angle to the corner of the adapter. (See illustration.) This closes the venturi valve. Probe tube length: 41 inches. Is there a 41 inch long dipstick tube (1/4 inch OD?) and a separate "intake tube" (5/8 inch OD)? ) is only 17 inches long. This is not for probes. Has anyone seen a dipstick that fits in a 5/8" tube? Contact Information: Yes, the phone number on the manual will call the parent company, then they will ask if you want to speak to the parent company or the OEM. I went OEM and (immediately 😲) got a friendly rep who explained to me what the vacuum nut is for.(For the rest of my life I couldn't figure out why it existed when I saw it didn't help, to clamp the hose o-rings.) What needs improvement: The manual clearly needs improvement to help people who are difficult to understand. They can also include either a second cap or a plate that goes under a huge one Vacuum nut fits so you can transport your oil without spilling it.
