I have a Prusa 3D printer on a table in my office, it used to be on a granite countertop in the kitchen. The printer was not very loud in the kitchen, but if you put it in the office, the volume increases a lot when printing. My research into 3D printer noise reduction has shown that the best solution is to place the printer on a heavy mass and isolate it from the supporting surface with vibration isolators. After looking at various anti-vibration mounts, I figured this product could handle the total weight of the Granite Plus printer, so I ordered a kit. The granite slab I ordered to put under the printer was a long way off, so I decided to see how the vibration isolators would fare under the printer's feet. I was pleasantly surprised by the amount of noise cancellation this setup offers. This arrangement dampens the mids and highs very well, making printer noise less obtrusive. I could live with the current layout but will install a granite slab when it arrives to better match the weight of the shocks. I can order another set of lighter dampers and place them between the granite slab and the printer feet to see if there is any further improvement. All in all a great product: well made and very effective at dampening vibrations.
