So today I fixed our KitchenAid dishwasher. When you open it, the door slams shut with great force, hitting your leg. There is a cable and pulley system on each side that should allow the door to remain open and open at any desired level. it's in a controlled way. Here it turned out that a rope had broken and both sets of pulleys were bent and not working properly. I watched an online video on how to fix the problem. Something wasn't exactly the same, but close. Some are heavier, some lighter. I think if someone was used to it it would probably take 60 minutes or a little more. Took about 3 1/2 hours for a beginner like me. I counted the time to figure out which switch is for the dishwasher. But I didn't want to let a handyman in the house during COVID-19, so I made it myself. Seems to be working fine now.
