The concept is interesting but is aimed at a wider audience than Suunto products which are more geared towards the world of athletics. As a Suunto 9 user, the first thing that struck me was the difference in build quality and aesthetics. I never thought that 9 would be made in Finland and 7 in China. I am sad about this step. On the other hand, I definitely think smartwatch features complicate and infantilize the end-user experience. The Google Wear App Store is very confusing with many semi-finished products. For example, I love the sleep tracking feature on the 9 and haven't gotten anything simple and equivalent on the 7. The original watch faces aren't very functional and the heatmap doesn't make much sense to me. On a positive note, the HR sensor is better than the 9 sensor, which is good news as you can't connect external accessories. In summary, this is a good option for those coming from other smartwatches and want advanced features. in sports and fitness. This is definitely a big downgrade for Suunto 9 users (at least that's what I can compare).
