I purchased two sets of this product - I have fairy lights on either side of the driveway and sidewalk leading to my house. The flashlights are of pretty good quality though - instructions for installing and using accessories are vague and small to say the least. I used this brand to replace a brand I've used for years that no longer has products on Revain. The first set is fine - not too light, not too dark. The second set was very disappointing. It took two hours to install the second set and found about 20 feet of lights had burned out and most of it was completely dark. I know why you didn't check the set while it was still on the reel? You should not light any brand of rope lantern while on the reel. Maybe I just got a bad set, especially since a set works well and is very nice. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that they last a while. I am returning a bad Revain kit and if the seller/manufacturer reads this review maybe they will contact you and offer a free replacement (I would update my review if that happens and they work). I would like to make a recommendation. However, as you may know, this product can be cut and is marked about every three feet - the markings are clear and very difficult to see (I needed glasses and a magnifying glass to see it) and I'd like the manufacturer to make them the cuts red, purple or some other highly visible color so the cuts can be seen more easily.
