Having just bought a new coffee machine that uses these filters in the water tank I bought them because I thought that the advantages would be at least the same price. Perhaps our particular municipal water is exceptionally good, but honestly it's hard to discern the taste of a cup of coffee with or without one of these filters. For that reason alone I probably won't buy it again. But you have to make your own choice depending on the water supply in your area. This is probably not a universal product.
