Amazingly inexpensive

I chose these for use with model rockets with lots of uneven surfaces and odd angles. These pads work great and last a long time. Only the side has a grinding surface. The sanding surface looks more like a cloth covered with sand than paper with sand glued to it. The fabric makes it stick together well and allows it to be flexible. The polished finish lasts a decent amount of time. For the price they are very worth it.

Pros
  • Ideal for dry or wet sanding of wood, paint, metal, plastic and drywall
Cons
  • Miscellaneous Miscellaneous

Nice thick foam pad conforms to common shapes.

Good, thick foam base conforms to common shapes and is handy, but seems to wear out quickly (I handcraft wooden trout nets and one wears out ab in less than one stitch). I blow them out with compressed air, but that doesn't help. I buy a hardware store brand that lasts longer than this one. I thought 3M would make a better product! I won't buy this again.

Pros
  • Its flexible, washable and reusable shape is handy for painters, carpenters and drywallers
Cons
  • is unreliable

I mixed them up with other 3M sanding pads I bought a few years ago that can be washed and reused many times. They're great, maybe 4-5 minutes and then practically useless. I washed them out to continue using them but they don't have the durability and quality of the earlier 3M abrasive pads. "Unfortunately I bought 3 boxes of 3 different grits so I'll stick with barely mediocre sponges but it doesn't have to be if you follow my advice. Very disappointed especially I thought I was getting a…

Pros

  • Very expensive
